Agents:
Patrick Elza has been with the agency since the original founding in 1979. Patrick is a 1974 graduate of Culver-Stockton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force (1971 – 1976). Over the past 40 years he has attended numerous insurance related training programs and currently holds the following state licenses.

Carson Kelly joined EasTex Insurance in 2011 after attending Tyler Junior College. Carson lives at Hide-A-Way Lake and serves as a board member of the Hide-A-Way Lake Men’s Golf Association. Over the past 8 years he has attended many insurance related training programs and continuing education classes and currently holds the following state licenses.

Our History:
Patrick & Elaine Elza are native East Texans. They were married in 1969 and after a short time away from the area for college and a 4-year tour in the US Air Force they returned to Tyler, Texas in 1976. In 1979 they founded Elza Insurance Agency. For the first 5 years they worked together to build the agency and then Elaine went back to her main job as a full time stay-at-home mom. As the agency grew they moved the office location several times and in 1986 they purchased land on Hwy. 155 southwest of Tyler and built the office building that they still occupy today. In 1990 the agency was incorporated and the agency name was changed to EasTex Insurance Associates, Inc. to reflect the regional nature of our service territory. In 1992 Jon Lockett joined the agency as a customer service representative and commercial / life producer. He later purchased the accounts of another agent and became a partner in the agency. Jon worked with EasTex for 26 years and was instrumental in the growth of the agency until his untimely passing in 2018. His customer base is now serviced by Carson Kelly (Jon’s son).

- As your agent we ask you to contact us when you have a loss so we can monitor the claim process. We will work with you and the claims department from the 1st day to the satisfactory conclusion of your claim.
